Madison, WI -- UW Health seeks an experienced healthcare executive to serve as its next Vice President/President, UW Hospitals, Madison Region (President). This position represents an incredible opportunity to lead the largest component of a nationally recognized academic institution during an era of ongoing growth for UW Health.
UW Health holds a strong position in the marketplace and is routinely recognized for its clinical excellence, financial health and brand strength. UW Health is the approximately $3 billion integrated health system of the University of Wisconsin-Madison serving more than 600,000 patients each year with 1,500 employed physicians and 17,000 employees at seven hospitals and 87 outpatient clinics. UW Health is governed by the UW Hospitals and Clinics Authority and partners with UW School of Medicine and Public Health (UWSMPH) to fulfill their patient care, research, education and community service missions.
The Madison Region for UW Health is inclusive of the 505-bed University Hospital, which includes UW Carbone Cancer Center, an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center; UW Health at The American Center, a 56-bed, community based health and wellness facility; American Family Children's Hospital, a nationally ranked 87-bed facility; UW Health Rehabilitation Hospital, a 50-bed post-acute inpatient program; and a Joint Operating Agreement with UnityPoint Health-Meriter, a 448-bed community-based hospital.
As a key member of the UW Health senior leadership team, the President will drive change and implement system based policies while preserving the innovation and entrepreneurship of the academic mission. The President will be the operational leader for University Hospital and lead inpatient operations across the Madison region. The President will also play a prominent role in the community and promote a culture of diversity and inclusion.
The successful candidate will be an accomplished healthcare leader who thrives in a complex, relationship-driven culture. A Master’s (or advanced) Degree in an appropriate field is required, along with a minimum of eight years senior leadership experience within an academic health system or major teaching hospital and a commitment to academic medicine.
