SUMMARY:The System Director is responsible for the overall operation of the organizations pharmacy services.Provides leadership and oversight in the development of departmental operational and strategic plans, coordinates pharmacy operations for the provision of pharmaceutical care, and ensures compliance with all legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements. The System Director oversees all of CHKD's procurement,distribution, monitoring and utlization of pharmaceutics in all patient care settings. In collaboration with the medical staff and the Pharmacy Committees, develops systems and services which ensure optimal therapeutic drug utilization. Development of process to promote quality of service, budgetary compliance and establishment of departmental direction. While a high level of independence in performance of the role and/or solution of problems is expected, cooperation and collaboration is also a vital aspect of the job.The System Director reports to the Vice President.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides leadership,oversight and direction to pharmacy operations
Oversees and is accountable for expense and revenue budgets
Develops processes to meet or exceed customer service objectives
Remains knowledgable ot trends, professional standards,and new developments in pharmacy practice
Develops and maintains Performance And Quality programs and corrective actions for any deficiencies
Fosters a culture of team work, diversity, and safety consistent with that of the organization
Accountable for daily operations and other activities as assigned
Possession of a Virginia Pharmacy License in good standing or eligibility for same
Doctor of Pharmacy degree(PharmD) from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy; will consider BS in Pharmacy with commensurate clinical experience.
MS,MBA, or other advanced degree a plus but not required.
ASHP-accredited PGY-1 residency with emphasis in pediatrics pharmacy practice preferred
Minimum of five years of five years of progressively more clinical experience
At least two years of leadership experience at a Manager or Director level
Experience in the entire continuum of care(e.g. inpatient, outpatient, financial,340b,etc) desirable
