Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center (MSHMC) has retained Witt/Kieffer to support their efforts to recruit a progressive and experienced leader for its next President. This is an outstanding opportunity for an individual with a demonstrated track record of successful leadership in academic medicine to bring excellence to one of the country’s preeminent academic medical centers.
Based in Hershey, Pennsylvania, MSHMC is a 548-bed academic medical center with $1.8 Billion in net revenue. MSHMC is a full-service, quaternary care hospital with all major services represented in both pediatric and adult medicine. The Medical Center is the centerpiece of Penn State Health, a growing multi-hospital health system serving patients and communities across 29 counties in central Pennsylvania.
Reporting to Alan Brechbill, Executive Vice President of Hospital Operations at Penn State Health, the MSHMC President will lead a dedicated senior leadership team that will sustain and enhance the medical center’s success in access, efficiency, service and quality. Together with physician leaders and the senior leadership team, the President will advance initiatives that lead to MSHMC becoming a top performer in quality, service and access.
The successful candidate will have significant and broad operational and executive leadership experience within an academic medical center, major teaching hospital, or similarly complex healthcare environment. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in leading operational and strategic initiatives, developing and implementing approaches to improve the quality of care, improving operational effectiveness and efficiency, and partnering with physician leaders on program development.
Inquiries, nominations and applications are invited and may be submitted confidentially to the Witt/Kieffer consultants supporting this search, Paul W. H. Bohne and Kimberly A. Smith, FACHE, through the office of Randy Dietrich via email to MSHMCPresident@wittkieffer.com.
