CHI Health, a non-profit, faith based health system headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, has retained Witt/Kieffer to aid in the recruitment of an innovative and entrepreneurial leader to be the President of UniNet Healthcare Network (UniNet).
CHI Health is the largest health system in Nebraska and employs more than 12,000 employees throughout Nebraska and southwestern Iowa. The system is comprised of 14 hospitals, two stand-alone behavioral health facilities, a free standing emergency department, and more than 150 employed physician practice locations. CHI Health is a member of Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI), a national nonprofit, faith based system based in Englewood, Colorado. CHI operates through 100 hospitals and clinics throughout 18 states.
Formed in 1998, UniNet is CHI Health's physician-driven Clinically Integrated Network (CIN) of independent and employed physicians across Nebraska and southwest Iowa. UniNet consists of over 3,400 providers, 14 hospitals and affiliated ancillaries with services including provider credentialing, continuing education, and value-based care contracting with payors. UniNet ensures that members experience successful payor relationships, participate in clinical initiatives, and receive resources to adapt to the changing health care landscape. UniNet is currently contracted for over 200,000 value-based lives.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer of CHI Health, the President will oversee the day-to-day operations of the CIN and direct provider relations, care management, and provider credentialing. He/she will play a key role in transitioning UniNet from a fee-for-service environment to a value-based payment system. The President will also be responsible for executive management of the provider relations functions, ambulatory care management activities, and negotiation and implementation of value-based contracts with current and prospective health insurance companies and employers. The President will serve as the Executive Director for two Medicare Shared Savings Programs – Alegent Health Partners and TPN Health Partners.
The ideal candidate will be Master's prepared and have a minimum of seven years of progressive experience in clinical integration, managed care, or population health. Candidates should have a demonstrated record of success in physician relations as well as contract negotiations.
