The Chief Nursing Executive of the health care system serves as a clinical lead and a member of senior leadership and plans, oversees, and evaluates all aspects of clinical operations, services, and nurse education by performing a full range of administrative and operational duties to ensure the delivery of quality, safe, standardized, and cost effective nursing care to patients and the community. Guides cross-functional teams and work streams, formulates and aligns priorities and initiatives with the strategic direction, goals, and values of the health care system. Ensures optimal utilization of resources and compliance with all applicable government and NYC Health + Hospitals rules and regulations and nursing standards of care, to improve outcomes and patient experience.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED); and
  2. A Master’s Degree (Doctoral degree preferred) in Nursing Administration or a related field; and
  3. Ten (10) years of satisfactory nursing experience, eight (8) years of which must have been high-level experience in administration or management; or
  4. A satisfactory equivalent of education, training and experience. However, all candidates must have at least a Master’s Degree or higher in Nursing Administration or a related field, and be licensed and currently registered to practice as an RN in New York State.
