UI Health, based in Chicago, is recruiting the CEO of University of Illinois Hospital and Clinics. A part of the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), the largest public research university located in the metropolitan Chicago area, UI Health comprises a clinical enterprise that includes a 495 bed tertiary care hospital, 22 outpatient clinics, and 13 Mile Square Health Center facilities, and the seven UIC health science colleges. The University of Illinois Hospital and Clinics is a public academic medical center committed to provide the highest quality care for all patients and to reduce health disparities. The position of CEO of the University of Illinois Hospital and Clinics reports to the UIC Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs and provides reports to the University of Illinois Board of Trustees’ University Healthcare System Committee. The CEO is the senior executive overseeing all aspects of the hospital and ambulatory clinics, accountable for the programs, growth, financial strength and quality of care. The CEO will lead efforts to optimize the Hospital and Clinics’ performance and collaborate with other UI Health leaders in meeting the missions of clinical care, education, research and community engagement.

 

Candidates will demonstrate success as an institutional leader that advocates for and supports the UI Health missions, will have at least 10 years of progressive senior leadership experience in an academic medical center, major teaching hospital or healthcare organization with comparable complexity in a competitive healthcare market. An advanced degree in business, healthcare administration, public health or related field is expected. Professional certifications are preferred.
