Job Description Caritas Christi Health Care (CCHC), the second largest healthcare system in New England, seeks an accomplished, dynamic, and seasoned human resources professional as their Senior Vice President of Human Resources (SVP). The SVP reports directly to the Executive Vice President and General Counsel, and will have responsibility for the delivery of high-quality, progressive human resources services throughout the organization.

This highly visible position provides leadership in all aspects of human resources management, including employee recruiting and retention, labor relations, compensation and benefits, and training and organizational development. As a member of the senior management team, the SVP will participate in strategic leadership activities such as strategic planning, business development, board and community relations, and medical staff affairs.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and charismatic individual capable of building cohesive and effective teams, motivating a diverse workforce, and coaching and setting goals with staff. S/he must have a demonstrable track record of success as a human resources leader within a large, complex multi-facility organization. Prior experience with a healthcare provider organization is highly desirable. Exposure to a unionized environment is a must.

A bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business administration, or related field is required; a master’s degree is strongly preferred. In addition to a minimum of 10 years of progressive senior-level experience in human resources administration, the best candidates will possess expertise in all areas of human resources management, including knowledge of current trends and best practices.

The Organization

As the second largest healthcare system in New England with over 1,550 beds, Caritas Christi Health Care provides community-based medicine and tertiary care to more than one million people annually in 55 communities throughout eastern Massachusetts, southern New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. In addition to six acute-care hospitals, CCHC provides social, educational, and healthcare related services through its non-acute facilities such as Caritas Home Care and Caritas Good Samaritan Hospice.
