We would appreciate your assistance in nominating individuals for this critical position.

HSHS is among the leading regional not-for-profit health care systems in the country. With over $1.3 billion in net patient revenues, HSHS has thirteen hospitals located in Illinois and Wisconsin, varying in size over 700-bed and 12,500 FTEs, regional hospital to critical access hospitals. Headquartered in Springfield, Illinois, the HSHS corporate office provides support and service to the entire organization. HSHS maintains a strong balance sheet and is AA rated by Standard & Poor’s.

The VPHR will demonstrate leadership through commitment to integrity and values, upholding the system’s mission and vision.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will be a senior executive with a track record of building areas within the human resource function, ideally in the healthcare field, although experience in large complex and service oriented organizations is also attractive. We seek a seasoned vice president or a strong second level human resource director in a complex progressive organization with a broad business perspective and a thorough understanding of all aspects of human resources. Given the complexity and scale of the organization, we seek an executive with a minimum of ten years substantive human resources experience who has demonstrated best practices in a sophisticated, sizable organization. Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in human resources or related field. However, seasoned and outstanding HR executives who do not have a Master’s degree will be given serious consideration.
